Mini Signal Generator

Mini Signal Generator is a tool that enables you to generate digital signals and save them as audio tracks with the WAV format. It features advanced options that can be easily configured.

The setup operation is a speedy and uneventful. As far as the interface goes, Mini Signal Generator adopts a simple window with a classical structure, showing all settings available.

In order to generate signals, you can indicate the signal frequency and amplitude (decibels), along with the sampling frequency and waveshape between Sine, Step [0,1], Step [0,-1], Step [-1,1], Pulse [0,1] and Pulse [0,-1].

The waveform can be displayed in the main window with one click, so you can examine signals in a graph showing the time (seconds) and level. This can be magnified vertically or horizontally, as well as restored to the original display.

The signal can be exported to an audio track with the WAV extension by indicating some file parameters, namely the length and measurement unit (seconds or samples), channel mode (mono or stereo), reference level for floating point (the representation of 0dB), together with the data format between 8-bit fixed (unsigned), 16-bit fixed, 24-bit fixed (ex), 32-bit fixed (ex), 32-bit floating (ex) and 64-bit floating (ex). You can also specify the saving directory and filename.

We haven't experienced any issues in our tests, since the tool didn't freeze or crash. Any errors displayed when attempting to set WAV properties before saving are explained in the help documentation, in addition to all settings. It used low CPU and RAM, so it didn't hamper system performance.

To sum it up, Mini Signal Generator comes packed with advanced and approachable options for generating audio signals and saving them to WAV format. No recent updates have been made, though.
