Simple Ripper

Simple Ripper is a small software application whose purpose is to help you record music from unencrypted streams, such as SHOUTcast and Icecast, using StreamRipper. It can be deployed on all Windows versions out there.

This is a portable utility which can be dropped on USB flash drives or other portable devices so you can have it with you all the time. Plus, you may run it without administrative privileges.

It does not store entries in your Windows registry so you can get rid of it using a simple deletion task. Gaining access to the program’s features requires only opening the executable file (as there’s no setup included in the process).

Simple Ripper adopts a minimalistic layout that integrates only a few options. There’s no support for a help manual so you need to experiment a little bit with the built-in configuration settings in order to understand how it works.

The application gives you the possibility to complete the recording process in only three steps. In the first place, you need to pick the preferred genre from a drop-down list. You can make the program look for music via the SHOUTcast or Icecast catalogue, as well as manually specify the streaming URL directly in the main window.

The second step allows you to select a user-defined location from your computer where the recordings are stored. The last step offers you the freedom to enable the recording mode with a simple click.

In order to complete the recording process successfully, you need to have StreamRipper installed on your computer. Simple Ripper is able to process only free streaming radio stations.
