Finding the right sound effect for a game or various other projects can be a real pain. Normally, you would open each file in your default audio player, close it, move to the next one, and so on.

With Sound Effect File Browser, this task becomes a lot simpler. Just open your sound effects folder and scroll through all audio files to play them automatically and find the right one. Once you’ve found it, move it to any other folder directly from the program.

However, it’s worth noting that the program supports only WAV, MP3 and OGG files, and an additional codec will be required to play the latter format.

After loading a folder, all supported audio files within will be listed in the main window, in their original directory structure. When selecting a file, it will be played automatically, though this feature can be disabled.

You can specify whether the audio files should be looped, and the volume and playback speed can also be fine-tuned. Lastly, a simple filter is available for finding specific items.

When you’ve found the particular audio file you were looking for, just click the Copy To button to send it to your working folder. If you close the program and launch it again, the previous source folder and your settings will be remembered.
