Wav Combiner

WAV stands for Waveform Audio File format and it is a very popular extension for storing uncompressed audio streams. Since it is one of the default extensions used on Windows computers, applications dedicated to it are also necessary, such as Wav Combiner.

Understandably, you need to start by choosing the source files you want to join into a single track. Unfortunately, you cannot drag and drop files onto the main window, so you need to take the time to manually browse to the location of each WAV file you want to process.

Once you have added all the items you are interested in, the app automatically calculates and displays their duration (in seconds), and you can change the order using the dedicated arrows (once again, drag and drop would have come in handy).

Another downside is that you cannot modify the name and location of the generated WAV file from the main window, you need to access the Options window first and apply the changes, then return to the main window and complete the merger.

On the plus side, Wav Combiner offers you the possibility to modify the settings of the output file before creating it. More specifically, you can change the number of samples per second, the channels and the bits per sample.

However, it is best if you leave these parameters unchanged if you are not an expert, otherwise you risk generating corrupt tracks that cannot be played by any software.

Wav Combiner is a handy utility if you are only interested in merging two or more WAV files into a single WAV track. Nonetheless, if you are looking to join them and generate files of different extensions, Wav Combiner is not the tool you need.
