Xitona Guitar Tuner

Xitona Guitar Tuner is a vintage application which came about some over a decade ago. This little tool is nothing more than a software solution to a problem that all guitar players have — guitar tuning — just like its name suggests.

The application seems to require only a microphone and, of course, a sound card. In case a microphone is not at hand, one can also use a pair of headphones plugged into the mic jack. The integrated microphone should be enough to pick up the tunes of your guitar, even if that it is not an electric one.

Xitona Guitar Tuner sports a MIDI keyboard which can prove useful for tuning a guitar by producing midi tones for comparison purposes. This can be activated from Tuning Types, the first entry from the Options combo menu.

As for the tuning types, the application should support Standard tuning, Dropped 'D' tuning, and Open 'C' tuning — each coming with their tuning subsets.

To sum it up, Xitona Guitar Tuner is a lightweight app with a lot of winters behind. However, it works with the latest Windows 10 version, so it can still come in handy to users who don't want to employ more expensive applications for this type of task.
