Apple Music is a streaming service that has gained a lot of ground, and is often the platform of choice of many Apple device owners when it comes to streaming their favorite tunes. The Windows implementation is a bit lacking, however, so if you're looking to download your songs for offline use, you've got to get a little creative.

The tool initially requires you to authenticate with your Apple Music account. It does so through a secure page, so there's no risk of anything odd happening to your account. You'll notice that the app is a sort of overlay for the Apple Music web app: navigating through it is much like navigating through Apple Music itself, so this should be quite easy for everyone to get started with.

Once you're on an album or playlist page, clicking the red plus sign near the top right part of the interface will automatically recognize all of the songs for you, enabling you to download and convert them. You're free to download an entire playlist or album if you so desire, but you can choose to be more selective too, and only download certain songs.

It wasn't uncommon to run into some hiccups, unfortunately. Some songs would outright refuse to download or convert, showing "This music content cannot be accessed" to prevent us from doing so. The interface responsivity also seemed a little on the slower side.

The downloads will automatically proceed to export your content as .MP3, but you can choose to automatically convert your tunes into .M4A, .WAV, and even .FLAC files through the tool. The output format can be changed for each song this way. Going into the Preferences menu allows you to select a different sample rate and bit rate for your songs.
