Create watermarks by combining text and pictures, with different customization options, and apply them over your images to keep them protected against theft #Apply watermark #Resize image #Sign photo #Watermark #Batch #Layer
Just because you can easily download images from almost anywhere on the web doesn’t mean they’re yours once on your PC. Picture theft is not a thing to joke about, since an artist can spend a lot of time and effort. Luckily, a simple security solution is to add a watermark over the distributed image, and this can easily be done with applications like waterMark.
It takes only a little while before you can get to know the application better. Just make sure that .NET Framework is installed on the computer you run it on. When launched, the main window shows up, with neat buttons, and organized panels which quickly get you up and running.
The application works with image files, and you are able to edit files of formats like BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG, and TIFF. These aren’t added through drag and drop, but rather through the two navigation panes, one for folders, while the other for content. There’s also a small preview area to help you decide what pictures to choose.
Before you get your new images, the watermark itself needs to be configured. There’s a completely different component in this regard, which also lets you save custom watermarks to be applied later on. Both image and text layers can be bundled in a watermark, each with various customization options.
By default, the watermark layer is transparent, so it doesn’t damage image quality. You can easily configure transparency when creating the watermark, or adjust it before it’s applied to pictures. Several preset positions can be used, but there are also values for width and height to manually position it.
There aren’t any editing options that can be used on the picture files, other than the option to rotate. Saving can either be done by overwriting existing files, or having new ones created. The neat thing is you can save to a completely different format from the original.
All things considered, we come to the conclusion that waterMark is an application you might want to keep around, especially if you work with pictures on a daily basis. Customization options allow you to fully configure watermarks of both text and images. File support is neat, for import as well as for export, making this app worth a try overall.
