Among the many stock photo websites available, Unsplash has become popular in recent years for making high-quality, beautiful photos available to everyone, absolutely free of charge. Most of the images found there look more “artsy” than “stocky” and could be used for a lot of graphic design projects or could serve as inspiration for amateur photographers.

But even if you’re not into any of that, Unsplash can still be just beautiful to look at. Now there’s even an app for Windows 10 which can help you search the website’s large image collection, and it’s called Photove.

If you suddenly decide you’re not going to use your internet browser anymore (except for maybe emergencies, like Facebook notifications), then you will not be able to go the unsplash.com and look for photos there. If that's the case, then you will truly need this app.

If not, well, it still can be a fun thing to have on your computer. As you’d expect from any Windows 10 app designed for browsing images, Photove looks great. It also has a few features that could come in handy.

With just a few clicks, Photove can turn a high-resolution Unsplash photo into your desktop wallpaper or your lock screen. Of course, you first need to crop the image to use it as such, and it is a little weird that the program will prompt you to use a perfectly round crop tool to make a rectangle image.

But the app’s biggest drawback is that, when you search for certain photos, it will show you fewer results than an actual Unsplash search from your browser. This is probably due to some Unsplash API limitations, but still, even considering its functions and design, there aren't too many reasons why we could consider Photove useful.
