Sense the Color (Free)

Nowadays most photo manipulation tools are looking to add as many effects as possible, to make colors more vibrant and glamorous. But there are those who appreciate more subtle approaches towards photo enhancements, such as what Sense the Color (Free) promises.

Sense the Color allows you to create amazing artwork with the photo editing technique known as selective coloring. The application automatically transforms an image to black and white, and then all you do is reveal or hide color with the touch of your finger, pen or mouse.

Create impressive images by uncovering the natural color within your photos. If you really want to get detailed selections, use the brush and eraser tools to touch up our selection, while larger areas can be dealt with using the fill tool.

More so, if you ever want to take a peek at how the original photo looked like so that you may not miss any detail, just press the "Peek" button.  You can also set the current project as a background image or as a lock screen straight from inside the app.

The application lets you share your artwork on all social media platforms your Microsoft account is connected to, or directly to your hard drive. Unfortunately the formats the application can save into is limited to only one (JPEG).

It's worth mentioning that although the app itself is lightweight, the limited amount of customization options it gives you (a brush, an eraser, and a filling tool) restrict what you can do with it.

All things considered, Sense the Color (Free) is a good application if you don't want to load your PC's memory with bigger image editing tools, but if you prefer more features, filters, and effects, there are other apps that do the same job.
