While it is true that most respectable image editors out there provide a way to export metadata, unfortunately, the option is not always straightforward or easy to find. If your line of work entails working with photos frequently, then there is a good chance that you encountered at least a couple of situations when you needed to copy the pictures’ metadata and EXIF data.

ezexif is a lightweight utility that provides a simple and fast way to copy the EXIF and tags of any photo to clipboard.

The application is portable, so you don’t have to bother with installation or configuration. In fact, to use it can either open it directly or drag and drop the image over the app’s icon and it will pop up a window indicating where to add the path of the image in the text field.

Once you do this, the information appears in the console window that is running at the same time with the app and you can paste it to your default clipboard. More precisely, you should be able to view information such as file name, data and time, location, camera, lens model, exposure, ISO, focal length, so on and so forth.

It is important to note that the program reacts to all files, but if you are adding anything else except a photo file, you cannot retrieve any relevant data. At the same time, if the image does not include any metadata, then the app cannot extract the EXIF and tags.

ezexif does not support batch mode, so it may not be your best choice if you need to extract the EXIF from a relatively large set of images.If this doesn’t inconvenience you, then the tool can be a great addition for anyone who is regularly processing photos.
