Some projects might require images of activity on your screen. On the bright side of things, every keyboard is fitted with a print screen function, but handling multiple shots gets quite difficult, since they’re only saved in the clipboard. Luckily, there are various alternatives like AnimobySC which automate the whole process.

It gets installed in the blink of an eye, and doesn’t require restart to function. The main window shows up on launch, letting you take a look through the set of features. When you’re done configuring it, you can minimize it to the tray area, only working through hotkey commands, while pictures are automatically saved.

Expanding the window reveals the set of configurations. As such, it’s possible to set the default save location for pictures, set extension of the captured images, as well as configuring trigger hotkeys, which can be a maximum of three, since these are all implemented functions. Note that extension can also be quickly changed through the tray menu.

In terms of capture methods, there’s the possibility to instantly grab and save a custom region, trigger normal cut, which lets you select and reposition the capture section, or take a screenshot of the entire screen. As mentioned, pictures are automatically saved in the default location under the specified format.

Just to be ready for work, there’s a dedicated function which makes it run with Windows. This is enabled by default, but it can easily be disabled from the configuration panel. As far as export options go, formats include PNG, JPG, BMP, PPM, XPM, and XBM.

Taking everything into account, AnimobySC is definitely a reliable screenshot tool. Even though it doesn’t include any processing options for pictures, it provides a decent variety of export formats, and comfortable methods of grabbing custom or fixed regions on screen.
