EasySnap

A screenshot utility can be quite a useful asset on anyone's computer, regardless of whether you capture your desktop often, or very rarely. It's never a bad idea to have such a program at the ready, even though Windows comes with one of its own.

EasySnap looks to provide a free-to-use, third-party alternative that seeks to offer the user a bit more control over their screenshots: capture your entire desktop, or just a region of it, annotate the resulting picture, and pin it on your screen.

The program is quite unintrusive, and comes in the form of a simple icon on your desktop, which you can right-click on to start capturing. It may not seem like anything more than a simple snipping tool, but for what it is, the software does well to provide users with just enough functionalities for their screenshotting needs.

Right-click the icon, and click Snap Screen. This allows you to start highlighting the region you wish to capture on your screen. The program allows one to annotate their screenshots, right upon capture: shapes and text of various sizes and colors can be integrated into your images.

Users can pin their screenshots right on their desktop, as they're partaking in other activities on their computer — to do this, simply click the Snap Clipboard option when right-clicking the app's icon. You can modify your picture's opacity, as well as the color of its edges. Through this functionality, users can be more efficient with their workflows, especially as you can pin multiple screenshots.
