Fergo Screenshot is a lightweight software application whose purpose is to help you take screenshots of your desktop.
You can drop the utility on pen drives or other portable devices to carry it with you all the time. Plus, you can open it without being an administrator.
A double-click on the executable file is sufficient for getting access to the tool’s interface. You can uninstall it via a simple deletion task because it does not store entries in your Windows registry.
Fergo Screenshot reveals a simple and intuitive design where all features are neatly organized in the main window. You can capture the entire screen, use-defined region of the desktop, or custom window.
What’s more, you are allowed to pick the folder where the captured images are stored, reassign hotkeys for each capturing mode, as well as configure the file naming pattern, and include date and time details.
The snapshots can be exported to JPG, PNG, BMP, GIF, or TIF file format. Plus, you can set the JPG quality, automatically take screenshots at a user-defined time (in seconds), capture only the active window, and play sound notification upon taking a new photo.
Other notable configuration settings worth being mentioned enable you to resize the captured images by choosing between several preset profiles or manually inputting the target size values, apply resizing filters (e.g. bilinear, bicubic), as well as run the program at Windows startup and open it minimized in the system tray.
Tests have pointed out that Fergo Screenshot carries out a task quickly and without errors. It provides very good output quality. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the system is not affected.
Fergo Screenshot comes bundled with several handy features for helping you capture different areas of the screen, and can be configured by rookies and professionals alike. On the downside, it does not offer support for image editing parameters in order to insert arrows and various geometrical shapes (e.g. rectangle, ellipse), apply special effects, and embed text/photo watermarks, just to highlight some options.
