ScreenCaptureIt is a small software application whose purpose is to help you capture screenshots and export them to JPG file format.

You can benefit from the tool’s portability status by running it without being an administrator. You may drop it on pen drives or other portable devices and keep it with you all the time.

You may get rid of the utility using a simple deletion task because it does not leave entries to your Windows registry and write other settings files. Gaining access to the GUI implies only a double-click on the executable file.

ScreenCaptureIt sports a clean and simple GUI that gathers all configuration settings into a single window. Decoding the dedicated parameters won’t take much of your time because they look highly intuitive.

The application gives you the possibility to capture the entire screen activity, active window, or user-defined region of the desktop. By default, the photos are exported to JPG file format. There are no other formats supported by the program.

What’s more, you are allowed to specify the output location where the snapshots are saved and set a name for the newly captured photo.

Tests have shown that ScreenCaptureIt takes screenshots very quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the computer is not burdened. The utility offers very good output quality.

To sum things up, ScreenCaptureIt comes packed with basic features for helping you capture images of your desktop, and is suitable especially for less experienced users. On the downside, you cannot work with advanced options, such as take screenshots automatically at a user-defined time interval, embed text/image watermarks, assign hotkeys for faster actions, and edit images using dedicated tools (e.g. pen, lines, rectangles), just to name a few suggestions.
