While Windows does include a basic screenshot tool, it lacks most of the features that you typically need when capturing the screen. Perhaps, this is the reason why so many opt for third party tools that let you annotate, edit and even read OCR.

Sunny is one option in this sense and includes features you commonly need for screenshots used for documentation, troubleshooting and creative work.

The application comes with a minimalist and smart interface that you can access from the System Tray or by pressing F6. Once the framework appears, you can drag the corners to the desired area, or you can use the arrow keys, if you need high precision.

In the top left corner of the capture area, the app displays the precise coordinates on your desktop. The information can be used for other snapshots, or you can employ it when arranging your desktop for a video conference, for instance.

In the lower right corner, you can find the options and effects available, including, but not limited to horizontal and vertical drawing toolbar orientation, contrast color themes or pinning images to the screen with scaling and transparency settings.

A noteworthy option is the OCR that not only lets you capture visual information, but also lets you interact with text within images. Simply put, you can extract textual content from snapshots, an option that can come in handy when working with multilingual content or with poorly scanned documents.

The tool also supports image translation, allowing you to quickly translate text within images. It goes without saying that the program supports various text formats during editing, ensuring compatibility with your preferred text style.
