Transparent screen capture is a simple-to-use software application that enables you to take snapshots of custom regions and save images as BMP-formatted files. It doesn't include complicated options or customization properties, making it accessible to all types of users.

The installation procedure is speedy and shouldn't impose any difficulties, since there are no unfamiliar buttons or third-party offers bundled with the setup kit. However, you must have .NET Framework installed, since it was developed with the aid of this platform.

When it comes to the interface, Transparent screen capture opts for a standard .NET Framework form with a simple design and layout, showing only two buttons in the main panel for taking and saving pictures.

The inner frame is transparent and captures the part of the desktop you want to save. It can be resized by clicking and dragging the margins or corners.

After grabbing an image, the tool displays it in a second window for preview purposes. If you're satisfied with the results, you can save it as a BMP file by specifying the destination directory and file name. Otherwise, the photo can be discarded and replaced with a new one.

As expected from such a compact software tool, it had minimal impact on the computer's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. It remained stable throughout its runtime, without hanging or crashing.

On the other hand, we've noticed that it shows an error dialog after canceling the image saving window. On top of that, it features a simple set of options for taking screenshots. For example, it doesn't support additional shapshot modes, such as full screen or active window. Nevertheless, you can test Transparent screen capture for yourself, especially since it's freeware.
