A Viewer for Windows

When it comes to image viewers and editors, there are lots of options for you to choose from. Like most users, you probably prefer a lightweight application for performing quick graphic enhancements and leave the professional-state editor for more complex projects.

While Windows comes with its own integrated viewer and editor that covers basic editing needs, there are also third-party applications that can do the same or more. A Viewer for Windows is just one example.

As its name suggests, A Viewer for Windows is nothing but a simple and easy-to-use picture viewer with a bonus: a few basic editing tools and integration with a screen measurement tool called A Ruler for windows, created, as you can imagine, by the same developer.

The application tries to keep things as simple as possible and that is why it allows you to open any of the supported image files in various ways: either by dragging and dropping a file, opening images the classic way by browsing folders from your PC, loading a picture directly from the clipboard and even selecting an image that is already displayed on your screen.

Once an image is opened, you can preview it within the main window in a panel that is quite generous in size. On the downside, there are no options to load multiple images at the same time and view them one by one, like we might expect from such an application.

The editing tools available in this application are displayed in the left-side panel, where you can find the instruments needed to make small adjustments. You can change the alignment of the picture, rotate and zoom it as you please, or crop it to remove unwanted areas.

There are also additional tools to enhance photos. A Viewer for Windows allows you to invert colors, apply the grayscale filter, sharpen it or adjust the saturation, the gamma level, the brightness and the contrast. All the changes can be previewed in the main window and reset with the click of a button.

A Viewer for Windows is a rudimentary image viewer and editor, with basic tools and integration with A Rule for Windows. Modified images can be saved in some of the most popular formats or sent to the clipboard directly.
