AS-Circle Image

AS-Circle Image provides a simple application that can apply a circle-shaped frame to a photo and save it to a local folder of your choice. To do so, it uses an alpha channel and applies anti-aliasing to obtain a smooth look of the input image.

The application comes with support for JPEG images only. Unfortunately, no other format is compatible with AS-Circle Image and cannot be used as input. As for the output, the application saves the result as a 32-bit PNG image in a user-defined directory.

There is no standard interface for AS-Circle Image. Running it prompts you to select the input image directly and, once you do so, you are prompted once more to choose the location where the file should be saved. The image processing does not take long and the output should be ready almost instantly.

Worth noting is that the information that is eliminated by applying the round frame is not lost. In fact, if you load the image in a viewer that does not use the alpha channel, the original version is visible, and not the round-shaped one.

While you can obtain the same results with a reliable graphic editor, the advantages of AS-Circle Image are that it does not require installation and that it processes the image with good results almost in an instant.
