When you grab pictures from a camera, the first instinct is probably to enhance it or fix some colors or other issues. It’s now all just a matter of choice in aesthetics and ease of access, because options are abundant. For a quick fix, AltaPixShare might just be what you need.

The install won’t give you any headaches, with little time spent dealing with it, getting to know the set of features quite fast. Visuals are clean, with a large interactive preview area, and several panels with different tools. With no hidden menus or extra tabs, accommodation is a walk in the park.

You need to load some image files to start your work, and you can do this either by dragging them over the main window, or using the built-in dialog. Sadly, the work you want to perform needs to be focused on files under the JPG format, because the lack of support for anything else, and the same applies for exporting.

In terms of options, the library of content is rather poor, with three preset output size specifications, at half the width and height, as well as quarter. Moreover, effects you can apply only count as five, and there aren’t any corresponding tweaks.

Apart from effects, there are also more distortions to apply, again in a small number, but this time with a configuration slider that sets intensity. Although not making much difference, two additional sliders let you put strong emphasis even on minor details.

Taking everything into consideration, we can say that AltaPixShare comes in handy for applying a quick fix to photos, or add a cool effect to a selfie before posting it online. Sadly, customization is poor, as well as file support, which has a significant impact on overall practicality.
