CrossGL Draw

Throughout the years, computer technology made faster processing possible, which gave birth to new methods and tools of working with images and 3D objects. As such, there are now various specialized tools for drawing, and CrossGL Draw is a suitable example, and includes vector drawing, and a whole bunch of other tools.

It doesn’t take long before the application is installed on your computer. On launch, you’re greeted by a set of instructions to quickly get you up and running, but the overall design is intuitive enough for individuals of all levels of experience. You can also choose how to start a new project, either from an existing image, or on a blank canvas.

The application contains a decent variety of tools which help you create new vector drawings from scratch, edit existing images, but also to grab images from the screen. For instance, screenshot tools can be used on one or more connected monitors for an entire image, sections of the screen, as well as program windows, which can even be fitted with shadow and transparent background.

The canvas is intuitive and comfortable. Objects can be placed and moved around through a drag and drop operation. Selection enables a whole variety of tools, such as resizing, copying to clipboard, and even specialized functions, depending on the selected object. Some, like the lens tool, have configurable zoom, while others, like callouts, have editable text fields and fonts.

On the side, you find a complex browser fitted with different tabs to comfortably access functions for browser, scenes, editing, and library tools. Layer management is basic, but helps you arrange objects in a custom manner. You can draw all sorts of objects, benefiting from lines, arrow, shapes, magnifiers, callouts, and texts.

When done, the project can be saved for later processing. You can work on multiple projects at a time, each in its own tab. Pictures from a document can be saved to file, but it’s also possible to export the entire document as BMP, copy to clipboard, send via email, or upload to FTP.

Taking everything into account, CrossGL Draw is a reliable vector drawing application, packed with a decent variety of tools. Images can be grabbed from different sources thanks to the screenshot tool, while functions make it possible to visually tweak nearly anything in sight.
