Nem's Mega 3D Terrain Generator

Nem's Mega 3D Terrain Generator is an easy-to-use software program that gives you the possibility to generate 3D terrain in a comfortable environment. It provides you with intuitive drawing tools and multiple export options.

After a brief and uneventful setup operation, you are welcomed by a classical interface made from a simple window with a clear-cut structure, where you can put together a new terrain by specifying its size (x and y triangles, triangle size).

You can load textures from WAD files, change the alignment (u and v shift and scale, rotation), push or pop revert, switch from textured to solid, wireframe or points viewing mode, enable outline, as well as use lightmap and customize settings (directional or height based, smooth or flat shaded, color or greyscale).

The utility lets you enable culling (back or front face), view FPS and other information in design, render the skybox, water and compass, turn on anti-aliasing, pick a mipmapped or non-mipmapped texture filter (e.g. nearest, linear), reset the camera, or walk on terrain. The terrain can be resized and regenerated.

Nem's Mega 3D Terrain Generator puts several powerful tools at your disposal which let you set texture layers or replace textures, lock the terrain or all points, raise and lower selected terrain sections, create mountains or valleys, smoothen or flatten surfaces, add noise, copy terrain portions, and fix minor defects.

The project can be saved to file and resumed later, or exported to various formats: .map, .rmf, .vmf, .dxf, .obj, .smf, .t3d, .txt or Heightmap. Export options may be configured when it comes to the export style (forwards, backwards, best fit, criscross, random), surface (top or bottom), textures (terrain, sky, water, hint, skip) and others.

As far as general program options are concerned, you can indicate the water level, sun location and minimum ambience, adjust the camera speed and speed boost, invert the camera, add new packages, edit textures, as well as tinker with the properties of each tool, like the small, medium and large radius size of the paintbrush.

There were no difficulties in our tests, thanks to the fact that Nem's Mega 3D Terrain Generator worked smoothly, without triggering the OS to hang, crash or display errors. Surprisingly, it had minimal impact on computer performance, using low CPU and memory.
