To correct the exposure on a local level you need to create so-called ‘control points’ by double-clicking a point on the image and holding down the second click. Once this step is completed, you can move the cursor up or down to increase or decrease the light around the marked point.

Using some additional sliders, you can tamper with the smoothness or brightness of the image, as well as emphasize the white or the black elements.

After you are done adjusting your image, you can export it to one of the supported formats and save it on your computer. More precisely, you can export the modified picture to PNG, BMP, JPEG, TIFF, PNM, PCX or XPM.
