Compression in image and video content, and potential artifacts, can surely upset any real media lover, and having the ability to restore some of the initial quality present in such media types, can be a lifesaver. Anime aficionados are no strangers to the lack of quality due to such reasons, and will most likely go to great lengths in order to achieve better quality for their much-loved images and videos.

Waifu2x GUI was created in order to offer users a specialized tool for working on their anime content, in order to be able to perform upscaling for both image and video content. This GUI-based version of the weaifu2x engine will require, preferably, a high-end graphics card, if long processing times for both images and videos are to be avoided.

Aside from the upscaling capabilities, the application also allows users to denoise images of various formats, as well as videos. Each different operation, denoising, scaling, as well as parameters such as the mode and frame rate, can each be tweaked individually, in order to attain the preferred requirements.

Last but not least, the application does support batch processing, allowing users to perform upscaling of multiple images and videos simultaneously.
