4dots Software Image Resizer

4dots Software Image Resizer is an application that proposes a simple solution for quickly resizing your favorite pictures and turning them into other types of files, such as JPG, GIF, PNG and BMP.

It gets integrated into the Windows Explorer right-click menu, so that you can swiftly change the resolution of multiple images at the same time by selecting "Free Image Resizer" from the "Send to" submenu.

Before installing this app, make sure you have .NET Framework since it cannot work without it. At the first startup, you can choose the interface language between English and German. This can be later changed from the main window.

4dots Software Image Resizer creates an icon in the systray and silently runs in the background without disturbing you with visual or audio notifications. Whenever you want to resize photos, you can open the right-click menu of the tray icon to bring up the configuration panel.

As far as the interface is concerned, 4dots Software Image Resizer has an unpolished look, preferring to focus on functionality instead. Settings have to be configured before sending pictures to "Free Image Resizer" because they are automatically processed according to the current configuration.

There are three profiles available for small, medium and large. However, it's unclear how they are selected by the app when resizing photos. For each preset, you can control the new image width and height, preserve or disregard the aspect ratio, pick the new file type for the converted photos, and write a suffix to add to the filenames.

Unfortunately, the application isn't capable of keeping the original file format when resizing the photos. We've noticed some display issues on Windows 10 but this should be expected when considering the fact that 4dots Software Image Resizer hasn't received updates for a long time.
