Captionize

Captionize is a simple-to-use Metro app that enables you to add custom captions to your images, whether they're opened from file or taken from your webcam on the spot. It features several fonts and filters for enhancing your photos.

The tool gets quickly installed from the Windows Store. It shows two large buttons at startup for capturing webcam footage and exploring your photo library.

Local images can be imported from files with a wide range of formats, such as BMP, JPEG, PNG, TIFF and RAW. Captionize loads the picture in the main window, applying an automatic caption.

The app contains various amusing captions, such as "I'm never drinking again", "Can you give me a hug?", "I swear it wasn't me!", "Chicks dig this", "I can't feel my face", "Ain't nobody got time for that", "Kids these days..." and "Don't be afraid. It'll be fun".

You can either use a random caption or create your own one. The font can be picked between Segoe UI, Impact, Arial, Verdana, Fixedsys and Comic Sans. Moreover, you can apply various image filters, like "Grungy", "Hazy days", "Nostalgia", "Vintage", "Sunrise" and "Sin City".

If you're pleased with the effects, you can save the new image to PNG file type, regardless of its original format. However, you should know that photos with a large resolution are automatically scaled on output. Also, there is no option for changing the font color.

Captionize wasn't originally freeware but its license was changed in the meantime. However, the demo limitations are still available.

To lift these restrictions and apply any number of random captions, change the font type and use filters for free, click the "Buy" button, confirm your Microsoft account, and follow the instructions.

No kind of charges will be made by Windows Store, and you will be able to use all features for free without having to enter credit card details.
