Color Picker

Color Picker is a tool you can use to find out the RGB decimal, hexadecimal and HTML code of any color on the screen. It comes in handy for web desginers or graphic editing professionals.

Before proceeding any further, you should know that this program hasn't been updated for a long time, so you may experience compatibility issues on newer Windows editions.

After a brief and uneventful setup operation that shouldn't give you any trouble, you're greeted by a small window with a straightforward structure, which shows all options provided by the application.

You can click a designated area and drag the mouse cursor anywhere on the screen to get its color, as well as preview this color in the main window before releasing the mouse click to make sure it's the one you're targeting.

RGB decimal, hexadecimal and HTML codes are shown in real time. Although Color Picker doesn't implement buttons for copying data to the Clipboard, exporting it to file, or printing it, the first action can be achieved by selecting text in one of the three fields and by triggering the global Copy hotkey or by opening the right-click menu. There are no other notable options available here.

As we expected, it didn't put a strain on the overall performance of the computer in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to work properly. It worked smoothly during runtime, without causing the operating system to hang, crash or prompt error messages.

On the other hand, Color Picker is an old software program that doesn't seem to be receiving updates any time soon. Nevertheless, you can test it for yourself.
