Easy Diffusion

If you've been on the internet lately, it's likely that you're somewhat acquainted with Stable Diffusion and the generative art it's been able to churn out. These are certainly some interesting times to live in, even more so that generative art is becoming easier to access by everyone.

Easy Diffusion is, as its name would suggest, a solution that aims to enable one to take advantage of AI models to generate art based on their text prompts and images. It does so by way of an interface that should be easy to operate by just about anyone with a modern system.

There's very little you need to do during the setup, as it's automatic. It can take a bit of time before the program fully downloads and applies all of the required models, so it's best to be patient during the whole process. The program comes with a browser UI, so upon finishing the installation, it'll open a localhost page via your default browser.

After that, it's time to see what AI can do. You can enter a text prompt manually, or load it from a file. To help with the generation process further, you can also enter image prompts. If you know what you're after, adding negative prompts is also an option that can improve the AI's precision.

It would be best to take a peek at the Image Settings panel before generating anything. Through those configurations, users will be able to set the number of images to be generated, the model and sampler used, as well as the inference steps, overall picture quality, and so on.

More inference steps can get you an image that is more relevant to your prompts, but at the expense of...time. It took 2 minutes and 27 seconds for 10 inference steps with our build, and the result, though accurate, was lacking definition and clarity.

It's also worth noting that you have more than a few samplers to choose from. There are some that are faster than others, but produce somewhat different results. Euler Ancestral is the default. Feel free to experiment and see what best fits you.

The Image Modifiers feature is an interesting addition to the software. In short, it provides a selection of art styles and tags to choose from. These will alter the overall look of your image, so if you have a preference for a certain art style, it's best to look into this. Various visual styles, including CGI rendering and carving, are available.

Easy Diffusion is a tool that makes working with Stable Diffusion models a quite fun experience. It's a great starting point for those curious about generative art, and with so many options to configure, you'll always have something to experiment with.
