Face detection is a Windows software application designed specifically for helping you identify faces in photos.

The program adopts clean and simple looks that leave room for no ambiguities and interpretations. It bundles only a few configuration settings, which can be tweaked with minimal user intervention.

There’s no support for a help manual but the dedicated parameters are highly intuitive so even less experienced users may venture into tweaking the process on their own.

Face detection gives you the possibility to add a user-defined image from your computer. Pictures can be uploaded in the working environment using the built-in browse button (you cannot make use of the drag-and-drop support).

The application doesn’t let you add multiple photos and process them in a batch mode so you are given the option to work with a single image.

As soon as you add a picture in the main panel, the utility automatically scans data and reveals the detected faces as thumbnails. In addition to the identified faces, the program displays a preview of the current item.

Tests have shown that Face detection processes an image pretty quickly but it is not able to distinguish all faces accurately. It eats up CPU and memory so the overall performance of the computer may be hampered. The utility hasn’t been updated for a long time, so it may cause compatibility issues on newer operating systems.

All things considered, Face detection offers a straightforward software solution for helping you identify faces in photos. Aside from the detection feature, which does not work properly all the time, there’s no support for advanced options that could help you edit the pictures and export the thumbnails to a file.
