MultiExposure

In photography, the multiple exposure technique consists of the superimposition of multiple images with different exposure levels, overlapping them to create a single picture. The resulting effect generates creative and compelling photographies. Aiming to recreate something similar to this technique, MultiExposure is an application that can overlay multiple images on top of others and merge them to obtain interesting graphics.

The application is very simple to use, as all its options are carefully placed into the one-window interface, with no additional menus. The preview area takes most of the GUI and is filled as soon as you select the source photos.

To obtain a nice effect, you must select images that have the same dimensions. Nevertheless, the application enables you to adjust the offsets of each selected image on both axis.

The list of images to process includes JPG, TIF, and PNG images that are merged into a single photo. MultiExposure overlaps images in the order they are added, but there is a button that lets you choose the photo that goes first. All the following images will be processed so that the pictures on top are more transparent.

The average mode configures MultiExposure to automatically adjust the exposure level of all the images and bring it to the same level. This way, the output image will become darker but areas with much light will be more visible.

The resulting image can be saved in JPEG or TIFF format; no other option is available.

MultiExposure is an interesting application but, needless to say, it cannot obtain the same results as a professional photo editor. This lightweight application overlays images and adjusts their weights to obtain something similar to the multiple exposure effect.
