PixVis ScreenScope

Choosing the right color combinations for your projects might be a challenge. For the color scheme to be harmonious, there are certain aspects to keep in mind. A vectorscope might be of help in this regard, as it allows you to analyze the color properties of an image and determine perfect color combinations. As you can expect, there is an app for that and it goes by the name of PixVis ScreenScope.

This particular application works with some of the most popular graphics editors, including Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, DaVinci Resolve, Adobe After Effects and more. It can open a vectorscope for any screen region, allowing you to build up harmonious color grading.

PixVis ScreenScope requires no installation, which is quite convenient. The application enables you to select an area on the desktop and analyze it in detail to determine color information, but it can also use the entire screen. You can make your selection by simply using the “crop” symbol within the main window. The captured area is shown in the lower side of the GUI.

What is interesting about PixVis ScreenScope is that it can remember the selection you made for each application it communicates to. This allows it to update the vectorscope automatically when switching to another graphics editor.

The vectorscope enables you to set primary and secondary colors and view marks that point to pairs of complementary or analogous colors, which makes it possible for you to create a more eye-pleasing combination of colors in your designs.

Designed primarily for photo editing in Lightroom or Adobe Photoshop, PixVis ScreenScope provides a vectorscope with automatic application recognition and multi-screen support. While it is not a complex tool, it can be of great help when used with graphics editors, allowing you to easily identify complementary and analogue colors and thus build your custom color schemes.
