Pictures are used in an abundance of domains of activity, and not just for entertainment of to look pretty on your desktop. Chances are you might need to create an instant presentation out of different pictures, and this is where SlideShow comes in handy, offering an intuitive set of features to work with.

A cool advantage here is that you’re saved the entire time and effort required to go through a setup process, so you can easily carry the application with you to always have a method of starting a slideshow. Moreover, it doesn’t make any changes to system registry entries, so the health status of the target PC remains intact.

You start off in a compact window, where you find all options necessary to select the pictures and define the behavior options of the slideshow. It would have been useful to see a context menu integration to be able to instantly start a slideshow with default settings on a folder containing images of interest.

The source needs to be a folder which contains pictures, with the possibility to have subdirectories scanned and included in the process as well. Sorting is done according to your choice, which can be classic, grouped, with path, or random. When done, you can be brought back to this dialog, have the slideshow restarted, or close the program.

Playback mode is somewhat customizable, in the sense that it can manually switch slides through hotkey controls, or automatically at a given time specified in tenth of a second. In case images contain useful info, you can have path, type, size, or general info displayed on screen during playback.

All things considered, we can state that SlideShow offers a decent set of options to instantly create a slideshow out of multiple pictures. Although there’s no preview, or possibility to add custom tags to pictures, you can have general info shown, slides turned automatically, or on custom input.
