Whether we acknowledge it or not, color plays a very important role in our lives. Color can influence the way we feel, how well we learn, and even how we talk and react. Narrowing the whole complexity of color symbolism a bit, color is incredibly important in web design as well as product.

Subsequent to its installation, and upon launching the app for the first time (it lives in a very unobtrusive fashion in the taskbar), you can’t but notice just how stylish and modern this app looks and feels, especially in the Dark Mode.

The app is designed to run on all major OSes out there such as macOS, Windows, and even Linux. It has self-defining features/elements: a color picker, palette organization options, a color harmony section, and a very useful contrast checker.

All tools are incredibly easy to access from the app’s compact GUI, and colors are even automatically copied to the clipboard, making the whole process of pasting them in your other web design tools as seamless as possible.

While all tools are pretty much straightforward, there are two that require a bit of praise. First off, the Palettes organizer allows you to keep colors separate for your projects. They can store an unlimited number of colors, and colors can be moved into the palette section via drag and drop from the Color History section (at the top).

The contrast checker is, in essence, a very simple tool. However, its effect is quite profound since it allows you to test color combinations and make sure they adhere to the WCAG standard. As far as color management tools go, it’s safe to say that Swach (despite its somewhat awkward name) does a pretty good job both in terms of features and accessibility. The app won’t get in your way while working, but once you need it, you can make sure that its set of useful tools will be at your disposal in a few milliseconds.
