Tonatiuh is an open source, cutting-edge, accurate, and easy to use Monte Carlo ray tracer for the optical simulation of solar concentrating systems.
The application is designed to improve simulation tools that have the main target of using sun power to produce energy in a usable form.
Tonatiuh is a computational scheme that provides a model of the concentrating system, a model of the incoming solar radiation, a model of the basic interactions between the radiation and the elements of the concentrating system, and a flexible way of specifying the results that the program should produce.
