Resize your images for your web design projects with this minimalistic application that can also modify the images and remove metadata. #Resize Image #Compress Image #Remove Metadata #Resize #Compress #Image
When you’re working on a web design project, adjusting the size of your images is an important process. This way, you can make sure that they will not influence the loading speed of a webpage. At the same time, you want your page to look as good as possible, and sometimes sacrificing the quality of some images isn’t an option.
This is why you need to achieve some sort of balance, and an application like pinga can help you do just that.
Keep in mind that pinga isn’t the most user-friendly applications out there. In fact, it was designed as a GUI for a program called pingo, which can only be used through a command-line interface. While you probably won’t get lost in pinga’s very minimalistic interface, its features aren’t that obvious unless you know exactly what you want to do with the program.
You can start by dragging and dropping the image files that you need to modify in the program’s interface. Remember that pinga modifies the original files directly, so make sure you work with copies, in case something goes wrong.
You can use the application to compress your photos, and there are various types of compression to choose from, such as lossless, lossy or auto-lossy. During this process, you can also dither the image (though this may increase the file size), but also convert it to grayscale or sRGB. You can increase or decrease the photo’s overall quality, resize it automatically for web and email, or rotate it to its original position. The program also has the ability to remove some metadata from JPG and PNG files.
As I’ve already mentioned, all these modifications are made directly to the original files. You have no previews of the changes in the program’s interface, so make sure you know exactly what you’re doing before you apply them. While pinga may not be the easiest program to use, it can still be a quick tool for designers who know their craft well.
