surfit provides users with a powerful gridding application that can determine regular grids based on large sets of scattered points, surfaces, fault lines, contours, trend surfaces, 3D objects, integral conditions, inequalities, and so on.
surfit can perform interpolations and approximations of the input data points, generating high-quality results that are comparable with the ones obtained by using the Kriging or Minimum curvature methods.
Relying on the original CMOFS gridding method, surfit enables you to define the influence and importance of each used data set. It uses custom gridding rules that contain the priority levels of all data sets. The algorithm works by calculating values in cells of an equidistant grid.
surfit can be used in porosity field reconstruction, using measurments and data points as input. Users can define additional conditions that should be met to experiment with surfit and assess its capabilities, such as average values or other criteria for a specific field or variable.
As for speed, surfit is a multi-thread application, so it can make use of all the processors your computer comes equipped with to ensure reduced computation duration.
