Displacement and Alpha Mask

Displacement and Alpha Mask is a plugin developed for Paint.NET users that can help them enhance their projects by distorting images based on the mask's light values. What makes it useful is that it can map images to other surfaces, so that the image blends with the surface in a realistic manner.

Since it is a plugin, it is worth mentioning that it needs a host application installed on the target computer, where it can be integrated into. In this case, the host application is Paint.NET. Installing Displacement and Alpha Mask on the target machine cannot be accomplished using a traditional installer or other similar automated processes. Instead, the content of the archive file needs to be decompressed and moved to the Effects folder of Paint.NET, usually found in C:Program Filespaint.netEffects.

Users can identify the plugin by accessing the Effects menu within the main window. Although there is a wide collection of effects, organized in various folders, Displacement and Alpha Mask is available directly at the root of the menu.

After opening its main screen, users can import a mark file from their computers, adjust Alpha controls that consist of inverting mask or mixing Alpha, configure Displacement parameters, such as enabling it, setting the X and Y levels or specifying the neutral value and also toggle edge controls.
