Unless you're reading physical manga, usually the most common way to consume this type of content is through a dedicated downloader solution on your desktop, or via one of the many available manga hosting websites. While those are perfectly viable ways to find and read your favorite manga, some users might prefer going offline — of course, without involving physical copies.

If you're on the lookout for something like that, then an offline manga reader might sound like a good proposition. Brevity is sometimes important, and Yomikiru couldn't get its point across any clearer: this is a solution for one to read their manga library offline on their computer, free from any distractions the internet might provide.

Though it would have been nice to see a downloader function incorporated somewhere, that's not the case here. This means that you will have to download the manga yourself: the tool supports a variety of formats, including image files, archives, .cbz, .EPUB, and other similar extensions, which it can also open through drag and drop.

Locate your offline manga library, select the series you wish to read, and go to town. If you're somewhat familiar, the reader interface isn't all too different from what you'd find on other solutions, which is a good thing. You can easily navigate through panels and chapters, and some options are available to configure how the panels are presented. You can modify their size, select the pages to be displayed per row, and even set a gap between rows.

When it comes to reading through your manga, the program offers users numerous shortcuts to assist with navigation. This way, you can maneuver your manga at the press of a button: switch between chapters, bookmark a cool moment, toggle Zen Mode for a distraction-free reading environment, and so on. Some settings to more tightly configure your experience are available under Other Settings: make scrolling smoother, load one chapter at a time, and so forth.

Due to the way the interface was designed, users can easily resume their last read chapters, jump to their bookmarked moments, and open new manga in separate windows. You may also opt to authenticate with your AniList account to synchronize your progress. Modifying the way the pages are laid out by configuring the reading mode, fit options, and more, is an option. The ability to use custom color filters is likewise present, and being able to force low brightness is also to be appreciated.

Yomikiru doesn't waste any time with niceties. It's a program you use to read your offline library and bookmark some of your favorite chapters. Though it would have been convenient to have some sort of downloader function built-in, this tool nevertheless worked very well during my testing.
