Picture View

Picture View is a small software application designed specifically for helping you preview, resize, rotate, and flip images, as well as apply special effects and filters in order to enhance the looks of your pictures.

During the setup process you may opt for creating desktop shortcut, generating Quick Launch shortcut, creating Start Menu folders, as well as making file associations.

The GUI looks simple and easy to decode. Photos can be imported in the working environment using the built-in browse button (the drag-and-drop support is not implemented).

You can preview the pictures and all the adjustments applied to them directly in the main window. The tool lets you add pictures with the following file formats: JPEG, BMP, GIF, PNG, PCX, and TGA.

Picture View gives you the possibility to resize the pictures by specifying the new dimensions in pixels or percentage values, and keeping the aspect ratio.

What’s more, you can rotate images to different angles and display a user-defined background color, flip items horizontally or vertically, as well as apply an automatic optimization mode. You can make the application show the next or previous photo from the current directory.

When it comes to editing features, you are allowed to apply monochrome, pixelize, negative, blur, and sharpen special effects, and alter the brightness, contrast, and saturation values. The utility also comes packed with several filters, such as edge enhance, color emboss, and find edges.

The edited photos can be exported to BMP, GIF, PNG, or TGA file format. The program also reveals information about each file, namely file format, resolution, colors, and size directly in the main window.

Tests have shown that Picture View reveals pictures very quickly and without errors. It does not eat up a lot of CPU and memory resources so the overall performance of the computer is not affected. It offers very good output results.

Picture View offers support for basic features for helping you view and edit images, and is suitable especially for less experienced users.
