ImageViewer

Windows comes with its own photo viewer, simply called Photos, which is set as the default application for opening common graphic formats in Windows 10. However, you can easily modify setting and configure the operating system to automatically associate images with another application of your choice.

With a name as revealing and simple and Windows’ Photos, ImageViewer is one of the applications that can act as a good alternative to the default viewer installed on your computer. It provides fast loading speed and full compatibility with popular graphic formats out there.

There is no need to install ImageViewer on your computer, as you just have to unzip the archive to access and launch it.   However, the application is not launched as you double-click on the executable file. In fact, when trying to launch it, the Windows defaults configuration is opened and you are prompted to replace the default photo viewer with ImageViewer. Once you do so, all the photos on the PC that you access via Windows Explorer will automatically be opened with ImageViewer.

The application is simple but it features a user-friendly elegant interface with a black theme. Being a photo viewer at its core and not an editor, most of its GUI is taken by the opened photo. There are navigation buttons in the lower side of the interface, which allow you to jump to the next and the previous image.

A few other options can be found at the left and the right of the opened photo. You can easily rotate the image if needed and delete it with the click of a button. You can zoom in and out the picture as you please.

ImageViewer is, indeed, nice looking and fast. However, it does not bring to the table more features compared to the Photos application of Windows, which is more than enough for the regular user.
