Able Batch Image Converter

Able Batch Image Converter is a program that allows the conversion of image files and supports batch processing. It supports several file types, including JPG, GIF, PNG, TGA, TIF and PSD.

The tool is packed in a clean and simple-to-use interface. Adding files to the list can be done through the file browser, folder view or 'drag and drop' function. As we have mentioned above, it is possible to handle multiple items at the same time.

The file queue displays the name and source format, along with the initial and output directory of each entry. All you have to do is establish the target folder, filename and file type, in order to proceed with the conversion procedure.

Able Batch Image Converter comes with a wide range of extra features - these focus on image adjustment (e.g. crop, color, resize, rotate, flip) and effects (e.g. negative, color channel swap, text or image watermarks). The list of actions can be saved for further processing.

From the 'Settings' screen you can switch to a different language for the interface, set the timestamp format, make the app automatically overwrite duplicate files and use the ICC color profile, adjust the JPEG compression quality and allow the creation of a log file, just to name a few.

Output format options can also be customized for individual file types; they include the TIFF compression level and color mode, scanned document information, transparency, background color, delay time, horizontal and vertical position, and others. Last but not least, you can install a third-party component, in order to use and manage plug-ins.

The image processing tool needs a moderate-to-high amount of system resources, has a good response time and completes a job in no time. We have not encountered any problems in our tests. There's also a help file available. Some essential graphic editing functions are included with Able Batch Image Converter; first-time users need some time to get familiarized with the advanced features.
