Apex Video Converter Home Edition

Apex Video Converter is a tool that you can use to encode video files between multiple formats, including AVI, MPEG, MOV, RM, WMV and MP4.

The interface of the program is plain and simple to navigate through. Video clips can be imported into the list via the file browser only, since the "drag and drop" method is not supported. Batch processing is allowed but you can only add one file at a time.

In the list you can check out the source path, split span, frame size, output type and status of each video. Once you establish the output directory and file type, you can proceed with the conversion task.

You can make audio and video modifications when it comes to the codec, frame rate, bit rate, size and sample frequency rate, as well as enable Apex Video Converter to automatically turn off the computer once the job is done. Plus, you can remove an entry from the queue or clear the entire list.

The video encoding software runs on a high amount of system resources, has a fair response time, quickly finishes a task and didn't freeze, crash or pop up errors during our tests. Unfortunately, we weren't able to access the help file and you cannot disable sounds when hovering the mouse over a button.

Apex Video Converter failed several tasks during our tests, whether we were trying to encode an AVI or FLV file to MPEG. The image and sound have a fair quality after conversion. However, we strongly recommend you look for something more powerful than this application.
