DVD x Ripper Ultimate

DVD x Ripper Ultimate is an application which allows you to convert DVD files to videos of multiple formats, including AVI, MP4, FLV, WMV, RM and MOV. The tool can be easily used by individuals of all levels.

The interface of the program is clean and pretty intuitive. You can import a DVD into the list by using the treeview (the "drag and drop" method is not allowed). Batch processing is not permitted.

In the queue you can check out the title, duration, number of chapters, range of selected chapters and selected audio stream of the DVD. All you have to do is specify the output profile, preset and directory, in order to proceed with the conversion task.

But you can also select individual chapters for processing (only if they are in a consecutive order), choose the audio track and subtitle stream, as well as preview clips in a small, built-in media player and take snapshots.

During conversion you can check out elapsed and remaining time, speed, file size and current time, along with a progress bar. Plus, you can preview results and enable x to play a sound or automatically turn off the computer after the task is completed.

The DVD encoding software takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, has a good response time, quickly finishes a task and manages to preserve a good image and sound quality in the output videos. We haven't encountered any technical issues during our tests. There's also a well-drawn help file with snapshots that you can look into. We strongly recommend DVD x Ripper Ultimate to all users.
