Ummy Video Converter

Ummy Video Converter is a fast and straightforward application designed to convert video files to other formats and make them ready for playback on media devices like Android, iPhone, iOS tablets or Apple TV devices. However, it can also create common video files as well as extract audio streams to create MP3 tracks or convert audio files to MP3.

Following an uncomplicated setup operation, Ummy Video Converter greets you with a very small window where it's possible to open a video file for encoding using the integrated file browser or by dropping it into the panel.

Batch processing isn't featured so you're limited to converting only one video at a time. The supported file extensions for videos that can be opened with this tool are 3GP, MP4, AVI, ASF, MPEG, VOB, WMV, MTS, and the list goes on. When it comes to audio tracks, it can convert FLAC, OGG, WAV, WMA and AAC to MP3, among others.

You can preview the video thumbnail and duration in the main window, press the "Convert to" menu to pick the output profile, indicate the saving directory and name of the new file, and begin the processing job.

The output profiles are organized in different groups and subgroups: Android (e.g. BlackBerry, Lenovo, Motorola, Samsung), iPhone, iOS Tablet, Apple TV, MP3, GIF and more video formats (AVI, FLV, MKV, WEBM and MP4 - HD 720, FullHD 1080, 4k). Once the conversion task is done, you can start over.

Conversion jobs were carried out at excellent speed within our tests, even in the case of large videos (over 1GB). The utility had minimal impact on the computer's performance and didn't display errors.

In the attempt to make video conversion as straightforward as possible, Ummy Video Converter may have become a bit too simple. The biggest downside is that it cannot convert multiple videos simultaneously. Otherwise, it's very fast, gets the job done without any issues, and delivers video clips with a decent quality (as expected with video conversion software).
