MP4-Mux-Tool

The name of the MP4-Mux-Tool speaks for itself: relying on the power of MP4Box, this application delivers a media software utility designed to help mux MP4 streams. In fact, it provides a frontend for MP4Box, a console-based utility that can combine videos, audio streams and subtitles into an MP4 container.

There is no need to install MP4-Mux-Tool, as the application is up and running as soon as you double-click on the main executable file. The main window is split into multiple panels that allow you to select the input and configure the application’s options.

You can begin by browsing for the video you want to use as input or simply drag and drop it here. Additional options allow you to activate Dolby Vision profile 5, 8.1 or 8.2 and select the language of the video. Moving on to the audio stream, the procedure is practically the same: simply select or drag and drop the audio source file. Please keep in mind that you can only add a video source to use for both the audio and the video input.

The following panels are dedicated to choosing the subtitle files to include in the final mux or choose the chapter source.

By default, MP4-Mux-Tool selects the same location as the original video, but you can easily change it.

Once you have everything configured, MP4-Mux-Tool allows you to view the console command that should be sent to mp4bpx.exe to execute your instructions. Copying it to the clipboard is easily done with the click of a button.

You must press the “Mux” button to begin the operation. Depending on the size of the video, muxing takes more or less time, but the application allows you to monitor its progress.

MP4-Mux-Tool can create MP4 containers out of input videos, audio files, subtitles or chapters. It combines them all together to create a compliant MP4 file, taking advantage of the capabilities of the MP4Box console app, while delivering a user-friendly frontend for anyone to enjoy.
