If you have a system that includes a GeForce GTX video card, then you already know that you need to install GeForce Experience as well. While some are bothered by the requirement, it does have some perks, one of them being that you can stream games. In fact, users report that SHIELD supports over 300 games and you can also add some manually.

Moonlight PC is a tool designed to make the management of NVIDIA GameStream easier. Simply put, the tool is an unofficial third-party client for the NVIDIA SHIELD streaming software component that allows you to take advantage of NVENC hardware on NVIDIA GPUs.

Provided that you activate the Gamestream from SHIELD, the app scans your computer for the program and once they are paired, you are ready to stream at up to 120 FPS with a high refresh rate. Depending on the power and performance of your system, you can create streams with 720p to 4k.

Other noteworthy features of the application include support for 7.1 surround sound audio, pointer capture and/or direct mouse control and HDR streaming. The tool supports gamepads with force feedback for up to 4 players, direct touchscreen mouse control and passing system-wide keyboard shortcuts like Alt+Tab to the host.
