Shark's MediaInfo Tool

As its name suggests, Shark's MediaInfo Tool is a new version of the popular MediaInfo tool, a metadata editor that provides with in-depth information about audio and video files. This particular version, created by Shark007, can extract metadata viewer from multimedia files located on your PC and generate a report that can be saved locally.

It is worth mentioning that Shark's MediaInfo Tool is more of a metadata viewer and not an editor, so if you are looking to change the tag information of your media files, keep in mind that this application is not fit for the task.

There are three ways to open and analyze a file with Shark's MediaInfo Tool. Most probably, as you download the file, you will be tempted to double-click on it. Well, this is the first way to open a file, as there is no actual interface of the application. Instead, the classic “Open file...” window is shown, allowing you to choose the media file to analyze.

The second method to open a file is by right-clicking on it and use the “Send to...” option. Last, but not least, you can also drag and drop a file directly onto the desktop shortcut of Shark's MediaInfo Tool.

Regardless of the method you choose, the result is the same: the application analyzes the media file you selected and generates a report which is opened in Notepad almost instantly.

The report reveals technical and tag information about the selected multimedia file, such as its path, format, profile, the file size, its duration or the bit rate. Another section includes details about the file format, the codec, the aspect ratio, the frame rate and so on. There is also information concerning the audio properties.

Shark's MediaInfo Tool is easy to use, it does not require installation and it instantly offers a complete report about the selected file and its video and audio metadata. The report can be then saved locally for later reference.
