StreamDock

StreamDock is one of those apps you might go thinking already existed. While some variations of this idea do exist to a certain extent, this is a more complex take on the idea of having most, if not all, streaming services at the click of one button. It's especially great for those days when you find you're seamlessly switching between various streaming apps and services.

The application isn't really hard to understand. It's actually quite intuitive if you look at the top of the program window, where all the services have neatly been stacked in a sort of strange alphabet that doesn't spell anything.

The first icon is for bookmarking if you'd also like to open a service at a specific page or entry. The rest are simple shortcuts to YouTube, Netflix, ESPN, Hulu, Dinsey, and so on. You'll still have to sign in to your account for most streaming apps, so there's no getting out of that.

The program doesn't offer much in terms of customization. It is quite easy to understand why, too. The app acts as a frame for online services. What you're seeing is the browser version of Netflix, YouTube, and so on. The only advantage here resides in a couple of settings that can change the way the image is displayed.

You can toggle full screen or scale height and width to a specific ratio between 16:9 and 4:3. One can also open copied URLs for instant display, toggle bookmarks, and stream a specific element that has been saved as a bookmark.

StreamDock might not be an application full of options, but it makes accessing various streaming services and switching between them a breeze. This is why, one should give this app a try if there's constant changing, back and forth, from one show on a platform to the other on another. It's one of those things that simply make life easier without even noticing it.
