Subtitles Translator

Subtitles Translator is an application written in Java that gives you the possibility to view movie subtitles translated into the Czech language as well as to edit them in the original language. It offers support for SRT, SUB and TXT-formatted files.

As long as you have Java installed, you don't need to set up anything else. This means that you can save the program files a custom location on the disk or to a USB flash drive in order to seamlessly run it on any PC with Java. The tool doesn't modify your system registry settings.

When it comes to the interface, Subtitles Translator opts for a classical window with a well-structured layout. Subtitles can be opened by indicating the SRT, SUB or TXT item via the file browser, specifying the format (Subrip, MicroDVD, SubViewer) or letting the tool autodetect it, as well as by selecting the encoding mode while previewing content.

The subtitle's contents are loaded in the main window and you can explore each line of text, along with the start and end time. It's possible to edit lines, view translated words for each selected line, look up words in an English - Czech dictionary, as well as save the new file by choosing the format type, encoding mode and FPS.

It didn't put a strain on the computer's performance in our tests, thanks to the fact that it needed a low amount of CPU and RAM to function normally. No error dialogs were displayed and it didn't freeze or crash.

However, Subtitles Translator is somewhat misleading. Although it lets you view subtitles translated in Czech, it doesn't give you the possibility to edit and save files in this language.
