VisualDivX is a comprehensive and accessible program that comes in handy when you want to keep track of each movie, TV series and documentary you've seen or want to watch in the future. Among the features offered is a web view of the record, which fetches information through its base scripts from IMDb, Yahoo Movies, Dreamers, and Cinefacts about a movie, along with technical and user data.

It provides a well-organized and modern interface divided into two parts. On the left side of the window it shows all the added items, and on the right side, you have the edit and web view, along with the movie, technical and user data. The program requires Java to be installed on the computer in order to run, and it's recommended to start it in administrator mode for better performance.

You can open an existing database or create a new one, by giving it a name. You can add an entry by inputting the title, category, director, producer and writer, along with the type (film, TV show, documentary), format (e.g. DIVX, BLU-RAY, DVD, VHS, HD), country, and the appearance year.

In the fist data tab, the full cast and crew, plot and additional comments can be inserted. The technical panel lets you enter advanced details, such as file name, the number of CDs, format, size, length, frame and bit rate, together with resolution, URL, languages, and subtitles. The supported image formats are JPG, PNG and GIF.

Another handy function is the ability to add multiple records at the same time, typing all the titles one after another. Plus, if you are running a borrowing business you can easily write the name of the person who loaned the film.

The search function comes in handy when there are multiple items in the list, and you want to find a specific one, you can use different fields (e.g. title, category, year, producer) as basic criteria. The app lets you import files from Ant movie catalog or portables (POR), and export the database to PDF, HTML, TXT and POR file formats.
