An interesting console application that makes it possible to record portions of live streams on YouTube and save them as MP4 videos on your computer. #Record YouTube stream #Live stream recorder #Record live stream #Recorder #Stream #Streamer
ee.Yrewind enables you to record YouTube live streams and save them locally to your computer for later use. As long as a live stream is still active, you can use this software utility to rewind the video a specific number of hours back and save the selection as a video file. Please keep in mind that ee.Yrewind is not designed for downloading recorded live streams.
There is no standard interface available, as ee.Yrewind only works via the command console in Windows. However, you can run the help command to read all about the program, its options and the way it works. The documentation is filled with examples to help you understand the syntax and the way you should use all the optional parameters.
Even if you are not accustomed to using the Windows console, you should be able to get around with ee.Yrewind. The syntax is fairly simple and, if that is not enough, the practical examples should clear everything up.
To use ee.Yrewind, you must run a console window and navigate to the application’s folder. Here, you must run the executable file followed by the “-URL=” argument and the YouTube link of the live stream you want to record. With no additional parameters, the application records the livestream in real time for 60 minutes at a resolution of maximum 1080p. Short YouTube links or IDs only are accepted.
If the “start=wait” parameter is used, ee.Yrewind waits for the start of a live stream on a YouTube channel you specify, ignoring any that are currently active. As mentioned above, you can rewind an active livestream, but it is also possible to delay the start of a recording.
Additional parameters enable you to customize the recording duration, which ranges from one to 300 minutes. The resolution can also be specified, in height pixels.
By default, ee.Yrewind saves the recording as an MP4 video, but the media container type can be changed.
ee.Yrewind is definitely an interesting piece of software, allowing you to grab content that is streamed in real time on YouTube. It can record livestreams in real time and to a specific point in the past, or wait for scheduled live sessions to begin and start recording them automatically. Please keep in mind that ee.Yrewind only targets active live streams and that it is not a video downloader for YouTube.
